What a wonderful day we had at Carsington water on Thursday.
I had had reports of Sandwich terns & Little Gull at Stones Island & Sheepwash.
So we headed off to Stones Island and quickly spotted the Great Northern Diver, I wasn't sure if it was still present but it was showing well. The Sandwich Terns then were found after a tip off from a regular at Carsington. We saw both Chiffchaff & Willow Warbler here too.
hen off to Sheepwash and after 30 minutes or so the Little Gull was showing off its aerial skills diving effortlessly with a Common Tern in tow. Some great views of Redshank, Bullfinch & Blackcap made for a brilliant days work. See full list below.
