About the walk

This trip includes free travel from the Belper/Matlock area, or at an agreed location on route. North Cave Wetlands is a nature reserve that is rising from the ashes of agriculture & quarrying. It's a prime example of what can be achieved when conservation & industry work together. A mixture of shallow and deep-water lakes that include muddy margins and islands, reedbeds, grassy banks, meadows & hedgerows. Plus a large colony of Sand Martin. Nice easy walking and six hides make this a great place for birdwatching in the spring. Facilities Include : Toilets, refreshments, hides & a picnic area.
