Willington Circular
7 km walk around the new footpaths

About the walk
This circular route takes in the Willington nature reserve which is a great place for wintering waterfowl & heron species. As we leave the reserve we will pass through pasture with shallow pools, farmland, a short section of the River Trent and finally stroll along the towpath of the Trent & Mersey Canal before returning to Willington. I've recorded 93 species at Willington and I'm sure this will increase with the new habitats that are now accessible. This can be a lengthy walk and sometimes only accessible with wellies as the footpaths are prone to flooding.
