Winter at Rutland Water

About the walk

Come join Derbyshire Bird Tours on a Winter walk at Rutland Water. We will pick you up either on route or from a local pick up point, agreed in advance. The day includes travel & guided walk. Rutland may be famous for its Ospreys in the Summer, but there are of course many more birds that make Rutland Water their home in the colder months. This site is home to some wonderful birds including some 25,000 wintering wildfowl. There's always the possibility of Bittern, Bearded reedling, Smew and wintering thrushes too. We would leave the Belper area at 07:00 to 07:30 and aim to be back around 18:00. Price does NOT include the entrance fee which is £7.50 (as of 22nd Nov 2024) for an adult.
